First of all I would really like to show my appreciation for the initiation of this project. Thanks to all involved. Now, regarding the document at hand, I don’t believe that the format or structure of the document is up to industry standards. (Some headers are on the left side, some centered. The bullets are sometimes dots, sometimes letters and sometimes, there are no bullets next to headings. The figure is totally unacceptable (what software was used?!). The figure also exceeds the margins of the text. Why is “Παραρτημα ΙΙ” in English on the Greek version?) Why invent the wheel when you could modify existing similar documents for example the Canadian SEG or the IAGC documents for non-exclusive multi-client surveys (they are freely on the WEB). These documents cover many more aspects that are not included in the proposed document. I have attached a link that has a lot regarding the format, structure and content of such documents. http://www.geophysicalservice.com/site_files/my_files/reports/enachescueinarsson%20abstract.pdf Regarding the methodology of selecting the right service company, I believe we should add an extra step prior to the selection as follows. I believe that there should be a “data room” where all potential seismic acquisition companies have the chance to examine existing seismic data to optimize acquisition parameters by understanding the type of structures that are present in Western Greece. Most of “Παραρτημα ΙΙ” is not really required apart for the deliverables section (include AVO i.e. Intercept and Gradient sections, etc). The service companies will optimize the right parameters depending on the objectives. The “data room” should include older vintages of raw and processed seismic data if available, borehole seismic data, and other velocity information available, also past seismic acquisition and processing reports. Prospectus of basic geological information for each basin (and sub-basins) that is located within the limits of the exploration area. The first question I was asked by a service company while enquiring for these types of surveys was: “Why is this a good Multiclient survey?” The “data room” will give the opportunity to the government to attract the right service companies and convince them to invest in Greece because it will be profitable for them.
