First of all, cannabis should have never been sold in kiosks and vending machines. That never made sense to me and its clearly done to please certain business interests. The health ministry complains that it can't hold to account 20 thousand kiosks, but they can surely cover 100 to 200 cannabis shops and make sure that all the products are up to health standards. The idea that cannabis is being sold, by people who have no idea what cannabis is, nor believe in its medical capabilities, and im not just talking about the kiosks, im including the pharmacies and the pharmacists that seem to be embarrassed to be selling cannabis, and look to us patients with very condescending looks judging us for the medicine that we need and can cure over 100 diseases. There are other business interests now that seem very eager to monopolize and consolidate the sale of all cannabis products to pharmacies and leave greek business owners and shop retailers with nothing after having spent years and millions of euros establishing an industry somehow, and the previous prohibitions have only pushed certain business to resort to unprecedented dirtiness by swindling poisons. Which puts the entire nation at a standoff, and someone is expected to lose, all this to please a foreign investment, no matter what the fate of greek companies is. When the solution is quite obvious, 200 cannabis shops vs. 20000 kiosks sounds like easy maths to me. The fact that kiosks and some shops are selling to underage kids is a travesty and a major tragedy. When a vendor sells alcohol or cigarettes to underage kids we go after the vendor not the alcohol companies or question why is alcohol legal or ciggarettes, so why the double standard with cannabis. As soon as something happens, we are always quick to blame cannabis and not the people who sell it irresponsibly. I think it's time we all take responsibility for our actions and stop blaming a plant.
