Dear Sirs, Sorry for the English but I do not have Greek Characters on my computer. After I finished High School in Greece, I continued my education in the US. At the end of my education, I spent the following 36 years working for large companies or Organizations in the US. As a result I have developed a great bias and affinity to the way of thinking in a large company. Every time we, in the US, want to introduce something significant in the corporation we first must answer the following questions: 1. What problem are we trying to solve? 2. What is the benefit we will have? 3. How much will it cost? 4. Will the benefit justify the cost? I fear that I fail to understand the problem at hand or we try to solve. Also, I have difficulty to identify the benefit of a database with this information. Let me elaborate. As you know many Greeks are employed in fields other than their educational background. Let us assume that we collect everyone’s educational information. Is the government/someone then going to make an effort to redeploy those who are found to hold jobs unrelated to their education? If it is not, then what will the benefit of this effort be? This leads me to the conclusion that this is an exercise in futility not worthy the cost. I want to challenge you a little. My Batchelor degree is in Management but I spent my career in Information Technology. Today at the US Universities issue 4 different degrees for the jobs I performed over the years. Over the years I attended numerous conferences and corporate sponsored courses. I also have attended numerous, 30-40, courses at the university. My Master degree is in Political Science. How do I fit in the proposed effort?
