    Το υπό κατάργηση Τμήμα Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων προέρχεται από το Τμήμα Εφαρμογών Ξένων Γλωσσών στη Διοίκηση και το Εμπόριο, το οποίο μετατράπηκε στα πλαίσια το σχεδίου ΑΘΗΝΑ σε κατεύθυνση με τίτλο “Εφαρμοσμένες Ξένες Γλώσσες στην Διοίκηση και την Οικονομία”. Τα αντικείμενα που θεράπευε εξ αρχής αυτό το τμήμα ήταν κυρίως «Εφαρμοσμένες Ξένες Γλώσσες» και «Διαπολιτισμική Επικοινωνία», συγγενή δηλαδή αντικείμενα σπουδών. Κατά αυτήν την έννοια πρόκειται για μετεξέλιξη και όχι για νεο-σύσταση. Εν έτη 2018 δεν είναι δυνατόν να οπισθοδρομούμε όταν σε άλλες χώρες η διεπιστημονικότητα σε προγράμματα σπουδών υπάρχει εδώ και δεκαετίες. Τμήματα Διαπολιτισμικής Επικοινωνίας λειτουργούν πολλά χρόνια με μεγάλη επιτυχία και συνεχίζουν να ιδρύονται συνεχώς σε πολλές χώρες του εξωτερικού, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις επίκαιρες πάντα ανάγκες της εποχής. Παραθέτω ενδεικτικά μερικά links προπτυχιακών κύκλων σπουδών διαπολιτισμικής επικοινωνίας πανεπιστημίων του εξωτερικού, πριν όμως αναφέρω, ότι η διαπολιτισμική επικοινωνία στο εξωτερικό αποτελεί σε διάφορους κύκλους σπουδών υποχρεωτική κατεύθυνση: 1.
